Refurbishment of the fire pond
A polluted water reservoir acted as fire pond and secures the fire-fighting water supply in the affected part of the district of Sorgau. The internal pond structure was in a poor weathered condition. The concrete generally shown different colors and local spalling, which was clearly visible. As a side effect, there was grass in the cracks as well as a slight growth of shrubs. In the inlet area, water has escaped from the cracks in the walls.
First basin was covered with a nonwoven layer, to protect the 0,5mm HDPE membrane and overlaps were lengthwise and crosswise. After completion and installation, TILTEX Plus 0,5 activated with water. TILTEX Plus 0,5 is an innovative concrete mat that through its stable and at the same time flexible surface gives an optimum protection, e.g. against erosion, plus it is easy in using and the quick installation.
TILTEX is a needle punched composite, consisting of concrete-sand mix, embedded and fixed between two layers of geo-textile and supported with additional layer of geomembrane, so you can select concrete insert to adjust the curing time. It is successfully used in mining, road construction, civil engineering, environmental engineering, waste management, infrastructural engineering, rail industry, oil and gas business, agriculture, and many others.
TILTEX system, however, is environmentally friendly and it does not interfere with the local ecosystem.
