Erosion control on a steep mountainside
The actions involved protection of hiking trail against erosion caused by high velocity of water flow of the stream. Hiking trail running through a gulch was facing serious erosion issues, compromising the stream bank and threatening the integrity of the trail. In order to stabilize the bank, Tiltex 7 was used. Point of installation is situated on a steep mountainside with challenging terrain, requiring careful consideration of water flow dynamics and limited access. The narrow, two-lane road leading to the site included numerous switchbacks, restricting the transport of large vehicles and heavy equipment.
Solution, which is concrete mat Tiltex 7 was chosen, in order to carry the actions without requiring extended closures or causing significant public disruption. The entire project was completed within a single day. The quick installation reduced public inconvenience, and safety measures ensured that the high-traffic hiking trail remained accessible.
Protection of both: the stream bank and the trail, were maintained with a reliable and environmentally friendly erosion control solution. This solution minimalizes environmental impact by selecting an eco-friendly material, which is Tiltex 7 mat in rolls.
