Slope reinforcement after landslide
Heavy rains in the south of France caused a landslide on a slope next to the Port de Bouc - Martigues railway. This collapsed slope needed to be protected against erosion and stabilized for a couple of years before important works could commence.
The national French railway company (SNCF) was looking for a temporary stabilisation solution. Their engineering office approved TILTEX 10 as the best solution. It helped to avoid cutting off traffic on the roads and carrying out the work at night, because all machines could be placed on top of the slope, and not on the rails below.
TILTEX 10 has been fixed by Traforex team with Gripple Terralock allowing SNCF a saving of more than 30% of the budget without any stop for trains.
Concrete filled geotextile and Terra-Lock solution were installed over 900 m² in a week and half, during day time, without interrupting the railway traffic.
